Design isn't the brush on the canvas, or the digital pen on the screen... Design is in the creator's Vision.
Good ideas drive good design...and vice versa.

My work experience is as varied as the hats I wear; I've been involved in numerous fields of work, and seen many different work environments. The Number one thing for every field I've seen has been production, however. The work has to get out there, and needs to be seen by the client. Nobody benefits from a site that goes unseen, or a mass mailer that doesn't mail. I've always prided myself on being able to get the work done, even in extreme circumstances.
While workmanship and production is important, so is the designer's vision. All too often I've seen a designer's work get coopted by competing interests, or simply by a client who doesn't understand what they're seeing. It's important for a designer to express the importance of their vision, and not let their work be undervalued.
